Taste

Mugwort is slightly bitter with earthy undertones. It is not a subtle herb. In a blend it makes itself known, which is why it usually sits alongside softer herbs rather than carrying a blend on its own.

A long history

Artemisia vulgaris grows wild across Europe, Asia and North America, often along roadsides and disturbed ground. It has been used in folk practice for centuries and carries a long association with dreaming in a number of traditions. That is history rather than a promise. People have reached for mugwort at bedtime for a very long time, and we would rather tell you that than tell you what it will do.

Three ways to use it

Smoke it. Mugwort is part of our Dream Worker blend, alongside blue lotus, chamomile, licorice root, mullein, sage and spearmint. Also available as a loose blend if you roll your own.

Brew it. Mugwort tea is widely available and carries the same bitter, herbaceous character.
